world vision

Monk’s Groovy Beans takes a pretty mellow approach to its philosophies and products. However, in our hearts we are dead serious about changing the world, one coffee purchase at a time. Each purchase you make through our uncommon program will contribute a portion of the gross profit to World Vision, a Christian Humanitarian Organization whose programs are building stronger communities and families in nearly every continent on Earth and in a total of 100 countries worldwide.

The International World Vision

World Vision has created programs in over 100 countries, ranging from South America to remote areas in Mongolia. In Chad, Africa; World Vision has helped to educate residents on farming techniques, water and sanitation projects, and teen training programs that teach youth vocational skills such as plumbing, woodworking, and carpentry. World Vision works on giving people the tools to improve their lives, become self-sufficient, and work on eradicating poverty. As they say on their website, we aim to “make poverty history”.

The U.S. World Vision

World Vision is deeply rooted on U.S. soil as well. Here are a few communities (among many others), both rural and urban that are benefiting from the support of World Vision:

  • Appalachia
  • Dallas, Texas
  • Chicago, Illinois
  • Southern Georgia
  • Southern California
  • Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota
  • New York, New York
  • Picayune, MS
  • Seattle/Tacoma, Washington
  • Washington D.C.

World Vision’s goal is to support communities’ on their quest to erase poverty from existence. They do this in three different ways.

  • The Storehouse helps to provide essential goods that support a community’s desire to build itself up economically through donations of school supplies, clothes, toys, and building supplies.
  • The Disaster Relief Fund will support families whose lives and homes have been devastated in the wake of a natural disaster of some kind. This fund can provide resources for those who need it most.
  • The Education and Youth Development Program starts with the education and support of the community’s high risk youth, helping them to have a vision of their own future through educational tutoring and life skills.

Monk’s Groovy Beans sees the Good in how World Vision is changing our Earth, one community at a time. Fill your soul with good Karma and be a part of this positive transformation, one coffee purchase at a time.
